I
am running for NYS Assembly District 66, Part B District Leader
because Democratic Party leadership matters to me, especially in the
issues present in Lower Manhattan: environmental safety;
responsible and sustainable development; and the need for affordable
housing.
I also believe that
volunteer participation, from the grass-roots, is essential to the
future of
New York City.
I offer experience as a video journalist
and photographer of civic activity; as a six-year Community Board
member; as a teacher; as a housing advocate and as an active member
of the Democratic Party.
And, I am prepared to assume the duties of
the 66th AD
District Leadership
in:
-
Hiring poll workers and
election inspectors for the primary elections every September
and the general elections in November.
-
Attending party meetings and
events on behalf of the district
-
Listening to the registered
party members of the district to learn what issues are affecting
their quality of life, such as housing, employment, education,
environment, and crime
-
Organizing meetings and events
in the district to give registered party members a strong,
unified voice
-
Working closely with the
district’s city, state, and federal elected officials from the
party to insure that the voices of the district’s party members
are heard
-
Providing support to elect
party members to public office in the district
-
Being an information resource
to the district’s voters in numerous ways including poll site
locations, election results, and general information about
candidates representing the part
